About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer to join a fast-paced engineering team building and maintaining scalable, cloud-native applications. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across the full software development lifecycle—from designing robust backend services and APIs to managing cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and production environments.
You'll play a key role in developing high-performance Ruby on Rails applications while driving DevOps best practices, automation, and AWS infrastructure management.
Location: BGC, Taguig
️ Work Setup: Hybrid (1–3x onsite)
Shift: Morning Shift (6:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Ruby on Rails applications.
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following engineering best practices.
- Build and integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services.
- Optimize application performance and troubleshoot production issues.
- Manage and automate cloud infrastructure using AWS services such as EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, IAM, and VPC.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Build, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CodePipeline, or similar tools.
- Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker.
- Monitor system performance, security, availability, and scalability.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
- Participate in code reviews and mentor other engineers when needed.
What We're Looking For
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails development.
- Strong knowledge of Ruby, Rails, and commonly used gems and frameworks.
- Solid experience with AWS services including EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC, and Lambda.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and deployment automation.
- Experience with Docker and containerized application deployments.
- Proficiency in PostgreSQL and/or MySQL, including database design and SQL optimization.
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Kubernetes (EKS).
- Knowledge of React, Vue.js, or other modern frontend frameworks.
- Experience with messaging systems such as SNS, SQS, or Kafka.
- Exposure to monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
