Senior Materials Planning Supervisor

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Materials Planning Teams are responsible for the plans, schedules, and monitoring of the movement of material through the production cycle. They determine quantity and order date for materials to meet production or engineering schedules, initiate purchase or production requisitions compliant with supply agreements, and develop the schedule to be used in the production facility based on forecasts and historical analysis. The Team develops specifications for new contract orders as well as forecasts and plans for labor requirements. They provide timely and accurate input on supplier performance and may be asked to participate in higher level supplier performance reviews with the strategic sourcing team. They also monitor cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.

Required Background

Performance Expectations

• Guarantee the application of planning and control policies focused on efficiency and service level.
• Coordinate and verify compliance of planning and purchasing areas.
• Lead the area and implement new innovation processes within the operation and practice of the supply chain.
• Attend internal and external audits of the area.
• Establish controls and improvements to achieve high inventory reliability.
• Recruit and train appropriate personnel for department positions.
• Ensure compliance in responsibilities, hiring, training, performance evaluation, and professional development with action plans.
• Achieve goals established by the organization.

Daily Activities

• Ensure internal sourcing and delivery of products to customers on time and with required quality.
• Oversee planning and purchasing processes.

Periodic Activities

• Review ERP parameters and information to ensure optimal performance.
• Review and analyze current demand versus forecast.
• Project loads and capacities for production.

Eventual Activities

• Transfers (line or equipment migrations)
• Quality audits
• Participation and follow‑up in assigned continuous improvement projects.
