Production Planner (Supply Chain)

Location: Remote Department: Supply Chain / Planning Position Summary: The Planner – Co-packers is responsible for managing production planning and operational coordination with external manufacturing partners (co-packers). This position ensures product availability, inventory accuracy, timely production execution, and effective communication between internal departments and co-packer facilities. The role supports day-to-day supply chain operations by coordinating production schedules, inventory management, logistics activities, ERP transactions, and documentation compliance. Key Responsibilities: Production planning for co-packers. Inventory and materials management. Logistics and operational coordination. ERP and EDI systems management. Production control and validation. New product introduction and change management. Delivery and maintenance of BOM and BP formats. Administration of co-packers Manual production declarations and reporting. Review of finished goods and raw material consumption history for inventory adjustments. Follow-up and request for incomplete documentation related to deliveries, including BOLs and COAs. Manage day-to-day communication and coordination with co-packers to ensure production continuity and timely execution. Monitor co-packer production performance, including schedule adherence, service levels, and inventory availability. Coordinate production priorities and urgent changes based on business demand and customer requirements. Review and validate production reports, inventory balances, and consumption data received from co-packers. Support onboarding and setup of new co-packers, including operational alignment and documentation requirements. Collaborate with Procurement, Logistics, Quality, and Customer Service teams to resolve operational issues related to co-packers. Track and follow up on material shortages, production delays, and shipment discrepancies. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize co-packer planning, inventory control, and operational efficiency. Ensure ERP transactions and planning system updates related to co-packer operations are accurate and completed on time. Assist in implementing new products, packaging changes, and production transitions with co-packers. Maintain accurate planning, inventory, and operational records within company systems. Qualifications: Education Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or related field. Experience 2–5 years of experience in production planning, supply chain, inventory control, or manufacturing operations. Experience working with co-packers or third-party manufacturers preferred. Experience in food & beverage or consumer packaged goods industry is a plus. Technical Skills Experience with ERP/MRP systems. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Knowledge of inventory management and production planning processes. Understanding of logistics and supply chain operations. Skills & Competencies Bilingual English/Spanish required Strong organizational and analytical skills Excellent communication and follow-up abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Attention to detail and operational accuracy. Team-oriented mindset with cross-functional collaboration skills.
