Insurance Underwriter Analyst

Responsible for the daily supervision, review, and approval of assigned junior staff tasks within its underwriting authority limits. Ensures all GUTS transactions are issued accurately, within company guidelines, and in a timely and consistent manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Financial Management

• Provides underwriting administrative support to achieve the Department’s Revenue Target per year

• Contributes to the management of the Affinity’s loss ratio by strictly adhering to established underwriting guidelines and pricing standards when evaluating new and renewal insurance applications for complex risks and/or developing insurance products/solutions

• Ensures only the desired and profitable risks form part of the Affinity’s and Pioneer’s risk portfolio

Experience Management (Underwriting Support)

• Improves service delivery efficiency based on agreed SLA and ensures smooth operations of the group underwriting support team

• Communicates professionally with internal clients, clients, and colleagues, and seeks guidance on simple issues to deliver consistent positive partnerships

Process Management

• Fulfills processes and activities consistently according to agreed-upon quality standards and turnaround time, including:

– Proposal Preparation

– Policy and Endorsement Installation

– Experience Refund

– Business Renewal

Data Management

• Follows data and document management standards and procedures to ensure accuracy and completeness

• Provides accurate data and completes assigned reports according to specifications while observing SLA and data/document management requirements

A Bit About You

• Candidate must be a graduate of a bachelor’s degree course, preferably in Business Management, Political Science, or Business Administration

• At least 1–2 years’ experience in administration, preferably from insurance or HMO industry

• Proficient in the use of MS Office (Excel)
