Key Responsibilities

Translation:  

• Convert written materials, such as reports, articles, or multimedia, from Mandarin to English or another target language, and vice-versa. 

Interpretation:  

• Provide simultaneous or consecutive interpretation during meetings, conferences, or other events to facilitate real-time verbal communication. 

Accuracy & Clarity:  

• Ensure that all translations are accurate, clear, grammatically correct, and comprehensible to native speakers of the target language. 

Cultural Nuance:  

• Maintain cultural relevance and ensure that the core ideas and information from the original text are retained in the translated content. 

Terminology Research:  

• Research and understand industry-specific terminology to ensure the precision of technical or specialized translations. 

Proofreading:  

• Review and edit translations to identify and fix language issues, ensuring a high-quality final product. 

Collaboration:  

• Work with other translators, editors, or teams to clarify ambiguous content and meet company communication needs. 

Confidentiality:  

• Handle sensitive information and discussions with professionalism and maintain confidentiality. 

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Language Proficiency: Fluency in Mandarin (both spoken and written) and a strong command of the target language (often English and/or Filipino). 
• Cultural Understanding: Deep knowledge of Mandarin and its cultural context to ensure nuanced and appropriate translations. 
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey information between parties.
