BOOKKEEPER (AU)

Full-time

PANDR

"Precision-Driven Bookkeeping for High-Performance Construction Operations."

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and experienced Australian Bookkeeper with a strong background in the construction industry to manage the day-to-day financial operations of a growing commercial construction business. This role goes beyond standard bookkeeping and requires hands-on management of MYOB, payroll, BAS/IAS lodgements, bank reconciliations, and software integrations between Procore/OneCore and MYOB.

The successful candidate will also oversee bookkeeping functions for a Family Trust and Self-Managed Super Fund (SMSF), ensuring all financial records remain accurate, compliant, and fully separated. A major focus of this role is maintaining clean and perfectly synced data across systems to ensure smooth payment processing and uninterrupted construction operations.

We are looking for someone who is meticulous, proactive, tech-savvy, and committed to maintaining high standards of financial accuracy and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

Software Integration & Data Hygiene (Top Priority)

  • Manage the daily integration between MYOB and Procore/OneCore.
  • Monitor and resolve sync errors immediately to prevent payment delays.
  • Ensure supplier details, ABNs, addresses, names, and cost codes match accurately across all systems.
  • Maintain clean, accurate, and consistent financial data across platforms.

Main Construction Accounts

  • Handle day-to-day bookkeeping operations for the construction business.
  • Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
  • Process full payroll, including leave tracking and superannuation compliance.
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations to maintain accurate cash flow visibility.
  • Prepare and lodge monthly and quarterly BAS and IAS accurately and on time.
  • Support financial reporting and maintain organized accounting records.

Family Trust & SMSF Bookkeeping

  • Maintain accurate and separate books for the Family Trust and SMSF.
  • Track inter-entity transactions and fund movements.
  • Record trust asset changes and SMSF contributions accurately.
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance for all related transactions.

Communication & Accountability

  • Communicate directly with the business owner regarding discrepancies, unusual transactions, or integration issues.
  • Proactively raise and resolve errors instead of making assumptions.
  • Take ownership of mistakes, address them immediately, and implement corrective actions.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of Australian bookkeeping experience.
  • Strong understanding of Australian GST, payroll regulations, BAS/IAS, and superannuation.
  • Previous experience working with Australian construction businesses is required.
  • Solid knowledge of construction processes including progress claims, subcontractors, and construction variations.
  • Minimum 2+ years of hands-on MYOB experience.
  • Experience with Procore, OneCore, or similar software integrations is highly preferred.
  • Strong technical and systems integration skills with the ability to troubleshoot sync issues.
  • Experience handling high-volume and detail-sensitive financial data.
  • Exposure to Family Trust and SMSF bookkeeping is an advantage; training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong data accuracy and reconciliation skills.
  • Honest, accountable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
