Barista
Overlocked Coffee Shop
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Barista to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent customer service skills, and a deep appreciation for high-quality coffee. This role involves preparing and serving a variety of espresso-based beverages, interacting with customers, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and contributing to the overall success of the coffee shop.
Responsibilities:
Coffee Preparation:
- Prepare a wide range of espresso-based beverages, including lattes, cappuccinos, americanos, macchiatos, etc., with precision and speed.
- Steam milk to the correct temperature and texture for optimal flavor.
- Grind and dose coffee beans according to established standards.
- Maintain proper espresso machine maintenance and cleaning procedures.
- Prepare and serve tea, hot chocolate, and other non-coffee beverages.
Customer Service:
- Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service.
- Build relationships with regular customers and learn their preferences.
- Answer customer questions about coffee and menu items.
- Take orders accurately and process payments efficiently.
- Upsell menu items and recommend drink pairings.
Operational Duties:
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the espresso bar, coffee grinder, and surrounding areas.
- Restock supplies as needed.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Participate in team meetings and trainings.
Additional Duties:
- Assist with light food preparation, such as pastries and sandwiches, if applicable.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by management.
Experience:
* Prior experience as a Barista in a fast-paced environment is preferred, but not required.
* Experience with espresso machines and grinders is a plus.
